My #YA #Book Updates

I’m working on expanding my series. I’ve updated the blurbs for books one and two, wrote a prequel short story from Kari’s point of view that will be free WIDE, meaning not just on Amazon, but other online retailers as well, and have begun novella book 1.5 from Warrior Angel Mila’s point of view.

This also means cover updates! (see below!)

I have yet to decide whether I will complete novella 2.5 from Cole’s point of view or book three next. If you have a preference, LET ME KNOW, because if I work on the novella first, book three my not be out by November like I’ve been hoping and promising. I don’t want to disappoint or frustrate any of my readers!

when ash rains down paranormal cover with text july 2017 final

Julia spent her childhood putting her life in order after abandonment, but now, it’s all coming unraveled again.

Julia received a necklace containing the songs of the angels from her dad when she was four. When she was eleven, he abandoned her family and the necklace went silent. Broke and heartbroken, Julia, along with her mom and little brother, moved from hotels to trailers until her mom finally found an apartment above the café she now owns. At seventeen, Julia’s doing everything she can to maintain security for her family, but now her necklace seems to have come to life once again. And that’s not all that’s changing.

When a robber attempts to steal from their diner, the necklace blazes and burns her chest. Pain in her back is nearly unbearable as the thief transforms before her eyes… into something demonic. When demon after demon threaten her home, family, and friends, Julia realizes there may have been something more behind her dad’s disappearance. And wherever he went, there may be something–or someone–dangerous now after her.

Facing an explosion, a kidnapping, and battles in a realm other than Earth, with a Guardian angel who’s as infuriating as he is attractive, Julia has to come to terms with the fact that she’s not quite human, and fending off demons is nothing, once the devil comes for her.

But it may be too late to save the ones she loves by the time she accepts the challenge he’s putting before her.

~Amazon ReviewerWhen Ash Rains Down is a story of hardship and hope.

Cecelia Earl brings humanity to this fantasy tale. Julia isn’t perfect by any means, but her striving, her misguidance, and her willingness to give up everything for her family is easy to relate to. When Ash Rains Down is surreal, idealistic, and full of heart, with a moral tale at the center, but also has a balanced side of loss, struggle, and tragedy. It’s fast paced, and follows a small portion of Julia’s life, but in a way that feels like just the beginning of her story. It almost has a metaphorical tone with what is happening in Julia’s life and then the coinciding apocalyptic angels versus demons battle.

When her father left, he took away her happiness and her faith. She was taught about angels singing and praying at night, but his leaving took that from her. She goes from this carefree spirit as a child to a determined and materially-driven person, who is then thrown into a higher power of the world. There’s a good lesson in Julia’s arc

when smoke rains down seriously the final final one with white text

If only humans knew the invisible danger lurking around them…

In the aftermath of an explosion and Homecoming battle, Julia tries to form some semblance of a routine: work, study, and visit her brother who remains hospitalized. Unable to confide in anyone about her double life of being both human and angel, and fearful she’ll bring more death and destruction to those she loves, she pulls away from her family and best friend.

When demons once again start to show up at every turn, seemingly bringing about her brother’s deepening depression, she demands her sword from Nicholas. Ever the stern Guardian Angel, he forbids her from using it. Isolated, she takes protecting her brother into her own hands. But when demons show they have evils hidden within their weapons in addition to their ability to siphon souls from the living, Julia’s not sure she knows the best way to handle saving him any longer. Especially when ash-colored lines begin to appear on humans, lines of demonic poison that travel through their veins toward their hearts and alter their moods.

Thrust into a dark world of conspiring demons, Julia is in more danger than she ever imagined possible. To stop evil from spreading and overtaking those she loves, she’ll have to seek out the one person she mistrusts most–especially when a line appears on her own arm, and her apathy toward doing much of anything, including saving anyone, grows.

Enter a complex world where humans, demons, and angels collide, all battling to rule the Earth. For readers who enjoy young adult paranormal romance and dark fantasy. Fans of City of Bones, Hush Hush, Unearthly, Halo, and Hidden Wings will be captivated by this unique take on angels and demons.

When Smoke Rains Down is Book Two in the Kingdom Come series. Book Three, When Fire Rains Down, the final installment, will be out late 2017.

(Work in Progress… so don’t judge too harshly! 😉 )

Kari is nobody special. She’s a high school spirit enthusiast, an aspiring Homecoming Queen, and a straight almost C-student who benefits from tutoring sessions with the anti-social, actual Homecoming Queen, Julia White. Kari’s a pleaser, and she’ll deny herself anything if it means making someone else happier, and that includes Julia. So, if that means studying to get a good grade on her math test, then that’s what she’s bound and determined to do.

Yes, Kari’s just another senior at Shady Creek High School… until shadows creep to cover the land around her renovated farm house one autumn evening. It’s a night she won’t remember, but its impact will shake the world as she knows it—because in those shadows hides a powerful, conspiring demon with big plans for her.

And one day soon, he’ll order her to put those evil plans into play.

Just this once, she needed to say no. She needed to deny someone—no, something—what he was asking for. Because, by summer, nobody will be safe. Especially not Julia. And acing a math test won’t fix the error of Kari’s ways. Nothing will.
